2006-12-01 Subcomandante Marcos In Sonora
Members of Pan Left went to Mexico to see the Zapatistas that traveled through
Sonora and stopped in Magdalena de Kino, a town just south of Nogales, Sonora, México. They are going throughout all the states in México on a campaign called "La Otra Campaña", or The Other Campaign, designed to begin dialogue and organization with other indigenous communities and marginalized people in México that have similar struggles as well as a way to put into practice principles outlined in their Sixth Declaration from 2005. After more than 4 hours of speakers, Marcos finished listening to all who came to speak and then addressed the crowd with a speech.

A mass demonstration gathered for the
fifth year in a row to protest the U.S. policy of militarization
of the border. The action came just one week after the U.S.
Senate passed a bill to build 700 miles of added wall to the
U.S./ Mexico border. The crowd marched through the
international port of entry in Nogales and Pan Left was there
with cameras rolling.

2005-11-05 Pay Day Lending in Pima County
Pay Day lending is a billion-dollar industry that makes its profits from the practice of lending money at unreasonably high interest rates. The industry clientele: the poor and working-class families who are struggling financially.
Activists are working in the city and county to encourage elected official to further regulate the industry, and to encourage alternatives to pay day lending. The Southwest Center for Economic Integrity hosted a forum on the issue.

2005-10-25 Humanitarian Aid Workers Charged
The US attorney has filed felony charges against two humanitarian aid volunteers with No More Deaths who were conducting a medical evacuation of three seriously ill undocumented migrants attempting to cross the desert in southern Arizona. Activists are now calling for the US Attorney to drop all the charges; humanitarian aid is never a crime.

2003-04-30 Government Officials Tried for War Crimes
In March 2003, the United States pre-emptively began a war on Iraq. In the name of a "war on terrorism," it is estimated that nearly 10,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed. In April 2003, a group of activists held a mock tribunal in front of Arizona Congressman Jim Kolbe's Tucson office. Here, United States government officials were tried for and convicted of war crimes and crimes against humanity. Despite the mock ruling, the perpetrators of these crimes remain at large. We have the video footage of the trial many have been waiting for.
