Create your own videotape . . . Produce the kind of video that would be most meaningful to your group

Community Visions

Think sweat equity. Through the Community Visions Program, Pan Left Productions will help you create your own videotape—about an important concern in your neighborhood, an innovative approach to change or an aspect of your community's cultural life. Produce the kind of video that would be most meaningful to your group—as an expression of your concern and as a tool for your ongoing work.

Possibilities: a video tape oral history, a neighborhood portrait, a documentary about a community problem, or a piece promoting your work.

What we will do for your organization
Pan Left Productions will provide all necessary technical assistance in designing, producing and editing your videotape. We anticipate that the finished tapes will range from five to fifteen minutes in length. Once your video is complete, we will also assist you in organizing community screenings.

With Community Visions, video production is offered at a reduced cost to progressive non-profit organizations. Equipment and technical services will be provided by Pan Left Productions.

What we expect of you
Involvement in the project requires a substantial commitment of sweat equity from your organization for approximately 6 months. If you would like to make a video with us, we will ask you to form a team of three to seven people who are committed to seeing the project through, including one person who will serve as project coordinator. Your team should count on meeting for approximately 12 weeks to brainstorm, design and script the project, followed by five to six weekends on actual production, and six full weeks for editing.
